Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
Deep, even ruby-black with moderate transparency, lighter edged. The nose is gently full and mealy, aromas of smoke, charred meat melded with red cherries, blackberries and spice. Medium-full bodied, flavours of savoury cherries, blackberries, enriched by smoked paprika and charred meat; dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans added to the mix. The palate is broad and savoury, supported by sweet fruit and fine-grained tannin. Balanced acidity carries roasted coffee bean and rich chocolate to a savoury finish. This is a mealy Pinotage with quality of sweet fruit, smoke and chocolatey tannin.

It’s sweetly fruited and savoury at the same time, showing dark berry, smoked game, bay leaf and leather characters on the nose. The palate offers smooth mouthfeel and succulent fruit flavours combined with polished tannins, finishing lingering and pleasingly dry. 4 Stars
Michael Cooper’s Buyers Guide
Estate-grown at Ahipara, the generous 2019 vintage (4*) is already drinking well. It has fullish, fairly youthful colour and a spicy, fragrant bouquet. Mouth-filling, sweet-fruited and savoury, it has strong, plummy, spicy flavours, the slightly earthy notes typical of Pinotage, and a smooth, harmonious finish. 4 Stars
